Columbus Police Arrest Suspect in Early-Morning Shooting Death

Columbus Police have arrested Donald Fair, 32, in connection with the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Demetrius Wilkerson at the Azalea Apartments on the 1400 block of Boxwood Boulevard.

Wilkerson was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 8, 2025, around 3:32 a.m. EMS responded but were unable to resuscitate him. Deputy Coroner Ben Saxon pronounced Wilkerson deceased at 4:10 a.m. The Violent Crimes Unit led the investigation.

Fair was wanted on charges of Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. He was taken into custody on the evening of November 8.
