Richmond County Deputy Arrested for Family Violence After Dispute with Pregnant Girlfriend

On July 18, 2025, Richmond County Deputies responded to an apartment on Wrightsboro Road in reference to a reported domestic dispute involving Deputy Montell Walton, a Road Patrol officer with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), and his girlfriend, Krishna Love.
An investigation by Investigator Bale of the Criminal Investigative Division revealed that during the dispute, Walton attempted to take the victim’s phone by placing his elbow into her chest. This action left a visible red mark and caused Love, who is 17 weeks pregnant, difficulty breathing. Walton admitted to taking and tossing the phone across the apartment.
Love was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. She was listed in stable condition. The couple shares a one-year-old child.
Deputy Walton, who has been employed with RCSO since June 2024, was arrested and charged with Simple Battery – Family Violence (case number 25-141934). At approximately 8:30 PM, Chief Deputy Lewis Blanchard placed Walton on non-paid administrative leave. Walton was then booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office stated it remains committed to holding all employees to the highest standards and will continue its investigation with transparency and accountability.
