Brunswick Man Arrested After Ramming Patrol Car in Pursuit

GLYNN COUNTY, GA – A Brunswick man is facing multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault on a public safety officer, after leading Glynn County Police on a pursuit that ended with him ramming a patrol vehicle.

On Friday, July 18, at approximately 1:07 a.m., Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) Officer Jonathan Miller initiated a traffic stop on Glynco Parkway near the Golden Isles Parkway for an equipment violation. As Officer Miller approached the vehicle, he observed what he believed to be an illegal narcotic in plain view within the center console.

The driver, identified as Deandra Lashawn Fairley, 33, of Stonewall Street in Brunswick, then fled in the vehicle. Following the crash, Fairley allegedly placed his vehicle in reverse and intentionally rammed Officer Miller’s patrol vehicle.

Fairley was taken into custody after his vehicle became disabled, without further incident. The Georgia State Patrol assisted with the crash investigation due to the involvement of a GCPD patrol car.
