On June 3, Brookhaven Police used their License Plate Reader (LPR) network and Drone First Responder program to locate a stolen vehicle connected to a shooting and a broader crime spree in the region.

The drone tracked the vehicle and observed suspects attempting to steal another car before fleeing the scene. With assistance from the Doraville, Dunwoody, DeKalb County, and Sandy Springs police departments, as well as the Georgia Department of Public Safety, officers apprehended three suspects—two of them juveniles.

The 17- and 15-year-old suspects face charges including theft, weapons violations, and reckless driving. Authorities said additional charges are expected in connection to a shooting incident in unincorporated DeKalb County.
