The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T. Unit and Patrol Division deputies apprehended a car theft suspect on Rocky Creek Road following a series of attempted vehicle thefts.

According to a sheriff’s office report, the male suspect allegedly stole a Dodge Charger from a residence on Hart Smith Street. Prior to this, he had abandoned his own Subaru nearby, leaving it running.

Deputies located the suspect at a gas station after he abandoned the stolen Charger and attempted to steal a second vehicle. He was taken into custody at that location. Authorities also discovered that the suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The individual received medical treatment before being transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. He has been charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and probation violation, with the original charge being robbery by intimidation.

Interestingly, deputies also found a sign reading ‘Homeless’ inside the suspect’s abandoned Subaru. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
