Man Convicted of Child Solicitation and Child Pornography Charges in Catoosa County
James Myers

A Catoosa County jury convicted James Myers on March 18, 2025, for soliciting a minor for sex and possessing/distributing child pornography. The two-day trial before Superior Court Judge Brian House concluded with the jury deliberating for less than 30 minutes before finding Myers guilty on all four counts.

The evidence presented at trial showed that Myers had engaged in an online relationship with a Facebook profile of a purported 11-year-old girl named “Emily.” Myers sent graphic messages detailing the sex acts he wanted to perform with her and expressed a desire to impregnate her. The “Emily” profile was managed by Predator Poachers, a group that conducts sting operations on potential child sex predators. Myers arranged to meet “Emily” at his home, where he was confronted by a member of the group who recorded their conversation. During the conversation, Myers admitted to viewing and sending child pornography on the Telegram app and described viewing child pornography on the “dark web,” including images involving infants and bestiality.

The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. A warrant for Myers’ phone revealed child pornography and a text conversation where child pornography videos were exchanged for a $200 Amazon gift card.

On April 1, 2025, Judge House sentenced Myers to 10 years in prison followed by 30 years of sex offender probation.

District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller praised the work of the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Predator Poachers group, stating, “Because of their commitment and courage, our team was able to present powerful evidence to the jury and secure justice for the most vulnerable among us.”
