Flock Technology Assists in Quick Arrest for Savannah Auto Theft

A collaborative effort utilizing Flock license plate reader technology led to the swift arrest of 29-year-old Anthony Mitchell in connection with an auto theft incident that occurred on April 10th.
The Savannah Police Department (SPD) reported that on April 10th at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office alerted Chatham Dispatch to a stolen 2022 Dodge RAM 1500. The vehicle triggered Flock camera alerts throughout Chatham County due to its tag being entered into the system by Statesboro police.
The SPD Community Response Team and Patrol units were able to track the stolen vehicle using the Flock camera network as it traveled west on E. Victory Dr. towards Skidaway Rd. When the vehicle became stuck in heavy traffic, officers conducted a traffic stop and apprehended the driver. He was identified as 29-year-old Anthony Taylor Mitchell.
