Richmond County Authorities Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of a married couple found inside their residence on the 2600 block of Springwood Dr in Augusta on Tuesday morning.

Deputies responded to the home at 11:48 am and discovered a white male and a white female, both deceased with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators arrived at the scene, and their initial investigation indicates the incident is a murder-suicide. The investigation is currently ongoing, and authorities have stated that no further information is available at this time.
