Four Arrested in Bibb County Kidnapping and Custody Interference Case

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four individuals in connection with an Interference with Child Custody and Kidnapping investigation involving a two-year-old girl.
On January 28, 2025, at 11:53 p.m., deputies responded to a report that a toddler had been taken from a temporary residence in Macon and transported to New Jersey without consent from her mother or DFACS.
The investigation revealed that the child’s father, 30-year-old Dashawn Rashard Sarratt, along with 24-year-old Samiyah Cunningham of Macon, 49-year-old Shinikka Cunningham of New Jersey, and 50-year-old Kiesha Burno of New Jersey, conspired to move the child. The child was transported by train to New Jersey to live with Burno, who later obtained a fraudulent temporary custodial order from the Hudson County Superior Court.
Authorities in New Jersey confirmed the child’s location and contacted Macon Bibb DFACS. The child was safely recovered.
With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the New York-New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, all four suspects were apprehended.
