Stolen RV Pursuit Ends on Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick; Two Arrested

Just before midnight on March 13, Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) officers assisted in a vehicle pursuit that began in McIntosh County and ended atop the Sidney Lanier Bridge involving a stolen RV and camper.

At approximately 11:17 p.m., GCPD was notified by dispatch that McIntosh County Sheriff’s Deputies were pursuing a motorhome towing a pull-behind camper traveling southbound on I-95 toward Glynn County. A GCPD officer deployed stop sticks at Exit 36, deflating the RV’s tires, but the vehicle continued southbound. Additional stop sticks deployed at Exit 29 further damaged the RV’s tires.

Despite the damage, the RV exited I-95 at Exit 29, turned westbound, then made a U-turn near Travel Centers of America and continued eastbound on Highway 17. The pursuit concluded when the RV stopped at the top of the Sidney Lanier Bridge, where officers arrested the driver and passenger.

The driver, Roberto Ortiz, and passenger, Shaina Boucle, were found in possession of a stolen RV from a dealership in West Virginia and a stolen camper from a dealership in Virginia. Boucle was found to have an active felony warrant for her arrest out of Miami, Florida, with full extradition.

Boucle was booked into the Glynn County Detention Center for her felony warrant. The McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office took custody of Ortiz, who faces multiple moving violation charges and obstruction of law enforcement charges from GCPD following a review of dash camera footage.
