Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) has signed a Sister Airport Agreement with the Executive and Autonomous Port Commission (CEPA), the operator of El Salvador International Airport-San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez (SAL). The agreement, officially signed on March 5 in San Salvador, aims to enhance cooperation in operational best practices, passenger service, and air cargo management between the two airports.

“The signing of this Sister Airport Agreement is a strategic alliance that will drive innovation, strengthen security, and expand economic opportunities for both airports,” said Jan Lennon, Interim General Manager of ATL.

CEPA President Federico Gerardo Anliker López and ATL’s Senior International Affairs Director Alrene Barr joined Lennon for the signing ceremony, which took place during a two-day workshop organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The event focused on airport development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and technological innovations, in partnership with Georgia Institute of Technology.

Following the agreement, officials from both cities participated in a gift exchange and reception to discuss future collaboration. This marks ATL’s 12th sister airport partnership and its second agreement with CEPA since 2016.
