Armed Suspect Arrested at Amerson River Park After Confrontation with Deputies

On Monday, March 3, 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies took an armed suspect into custody at Amerson River Park after he pulled a handgun from his pocket when approached by law enforcement.
Deputies responded to the park following reports of a man harassing women on the walking trail. When a deputy made contact with the suspect, he became verbally combative and pulled out a firearm before fleeing.
Authorities stopped the suspect in his Honda Accord at the park entrance, where he refused to exit the vehicle. Deputies forcibly removed him from the car and transported him to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including terroristic threats and acts, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers by use of threats or violence, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense, and disorderly conduct.
