Macon Man Fatally Shot on Ernest Street; Investigation Underway

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old man on Ernest Street Sunday evening.

Deputies responded to a call reporting a shooting at a residence in the 1300 block of Ernest Street at 7:43 p.m. on February 23, 2025. Upon arrival, they found Reginald Sherard Kendrick of Macon unresponsive in the backyard, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics attempted to treat Kendrick, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson pronounced him deceased. Next of kin has been notified.

No other injuries were reported.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
