Gwinnett County Drug Bust Yields 153 Pounds of Marijuana, Two Arrests

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Gwinnett Metro Task Force (GMTF) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), has dismantled a large-scale marijuana trafficking operation, resulting in the seizure of 153 pounds of marijuana and over $20,000 in cash.
On February 14, 2025, investigators received intelligence from the DEA regarding a marijuana delivery to a storage facility in Duluth. Deputies identified a suspect vehicle and apprehended Jian Yi Wu and Hieu M. Quach.
Subsequent search warrants executed at the storage facility and a hotel in Duluth led to the discovery of the drugs and cash.
Jian Yi Wu has been charged with VGCSA Possession of a schedule III-controlled substance, VGCSA Trafficking in Marijuana (2000 to 10,000 pounds), and VGCSA Possession of a schedule I Controlled substance. Hieu M. Quach has been charged with VGCSA Trafficking in Marijuana (2000 to 10,000 pounds).
Both suspects are currently held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
The GMTF, a multi-agency crime suppression team, focuses on vice-related crimes. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the GMTF and DEA for their collaboration in the operation.
