Columbus Police Seek Witnesses to McDonald’s Drive-Thru Shooting; 10-year-old Injured

On January 18, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., a shooting occurred in the drive-thru of the McDonald’s located at 4121 Buena Vista Road in Columbus, Georgia. A 10-year-old child seated in the back of a vehicle was struck by a gunshot to the head. The child was promptly treated and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Surveillance footage from the area revealed multiple vehicles present at the time of the incident. Investigators believe that witnesses may have valuable information regarding the shooting.

The Columbus Police Department urges anyone with information to contact Cpl. J. Berger at 706-225-4325. Witnesses can remain anonymous.

The investigation is ongoing.
