Teen Arrested for Trespassing and Drug Possession at Apalachee High School

An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Apalachee High School, located at 940 Haymon Morris Road, on trespassing and drug charges after school officials discovered he was on campus illegally.
At approximately 1:11 p.m., School Resource Officers (SROs) took Herson Galindo, of Atlanta, into custody. He faces charges of:
- Criminal Trespass
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Narcotic
- Possession of Drugs on School Grounds
Galindo, a student at Tri-Cities High School in East Point, rode a school bus to Apalachee High School with his girlfriend, who is enrolled at the school. Another student noticed Galindo loitering in hallways and hiding in bathrooms and reported him to an SRO. Officers quickly located Galindo and determined he was not a student.
Upon his arrest, officers found him in possession of a vape pen containing THC. Authorities confirmed he had no weapons and was not believed to be selling narcotics at the school.
Galindo has not yet been booked into the Barrow County Detention Center.
