South Carolina Man Arrested with Methamphetamine, Firearm in Habersham County

A South Carolina man has been arrested following a traffic stop and subsequent search in Habersham County.
Samuel Devahn Jones, 30, of South Carolina, was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
On January 29, 2025, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) pulled Jones over for a traffic violation on Georgia Highway 365 North. During the search, authorities discovered approximately 4.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm inside the vehicle. Jones, the sole occupant, was arrested and booked into the Habersham County Jail.
The investigation involved GSP, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO). Authorities noted that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
