Second Suspect Arrested in Connection to Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old Boy in South Georgia

Emmanuel Lee Williams, 19, has been arrested and charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and False Statements in connection to the May 2024 death of 14-year-old Michael Jmai Palmer.

Williams was arrested on February 5, 2025, during a traffic stop in Coffee County, Tennessee, by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, District 2. He is currently held in the Coffee County Jail, awaiting extradition to Georgia.

This marks the second arrest in the case. In May 2024, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was called in to investigate Palmer’s death after Pembroke Police officers found the 14-year-old boy unresponsive in an apartment at Miller Homes on Dubois Street. Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.

On May 12, 2024, 16-year-old Israel Lee Williams of Pembroke was the first individual arrested and charged with murder in relation to Palmer’s death. He is currently being held in the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.
