TSA Officer Arrested for Firearm Beyond Atlanta Airport Checkpoint

On January 21, 2025, Atlanta Police responded to the TSA main checkpoint at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after reports of a TSA officer with a firearm beyond the security checkpoint.

Officers arrested 58-year-old Matthew Gilbert at the scene and charged him with reckless conduct. He was transported to the Clayton County Jail without incident.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
