Woodstock Police Arrest One Suspect in String of Vehicle Break-Ins, Seek Two Others

In the early hours of January 14, 2025, Woodstock Police officers responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in the city. Between Sessions Street and Chesterfield Cove, suspects targeted one residence, broke into fourteen vehicles, and stole an automobile during a crime spree that began at approximately 3:20 a.m. before leaving Cherokee County.

Woodstock Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division swiftly identified the suspects’ vehicle and worked closely with citizens to gather stolen property details and review home security footage. By noon, roughly nine hours after the crimes began, detectives had identified three suspects involved in the incidents.

With the assistance of the Acworth Police Department, Powder Springs Police Department, Cobb County Police Department, and Cobb County SWAT Team, arrest and search warrants were executed. One suspect, Shukrani Ooko, was apprehended, and stolen items linked to the case were recovered. Ooko faces 55 charges, including violations of the Georgia RICO Act, Burglary in the First Degree, Entering Automobile, Financial Transaction Card Fraud, and Theft by Taking of a Motor Vehicle.

“This case highlights the exceptional dedication, professionalism, and swift action of our officers and detectives,” said Chief of Police Robert Jones. “Within hours, they utilized investigative resources, partnered with citizens, and worked seamlessly with neighboring agencies to achieve significant progress to take these dangerous criminals off the street. Their commitment to ensuring the safety of our community is nothing short of commendable.”
