Rockdale County Mother Wanted for Murder in Death of 1-Year-Old Child

On January 8, 2025, deputies with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a person not breathing and arrived at the scene to find a 1-year-old child unresponsive. Despite efforts by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to resuscitate the child, the young victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Following an investigation, authorities have issued a warrant for the mother of the child, identified as 23-year-old Gloria Wright. She is wanted for Murder in the First Degree and Cruelty to Children in the First Degree.

Wright is described as a 5’4″ Black female, and authorities are actively searching for her. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has requested the public’s help in locating her. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered through Crime Stoppers for information leading to her arrest.
