Murder Suspect Arrested in Richmond County After Months on the Run

On Monday, January 13, 2025, at 7:32 p.m., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Southeastern Fugitive Task Force, arrested 40-year-old Joshua Jermaine Wadley in the 700 block of Forest Ridge Place in Augusta.
Wadley was wanted for the murder of Ceon Ulmer, which occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at approximately 5:10 a.m. Deputies had responded to 1835 Warren Street, where they found Mr. Ulmer unresponsive in the front yard with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division issued warrants for Wadley the same day, charging him with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Investigators have since worked diligently to locate Wadley and bring him to justice.
The arrest is a significant step toward closure for Ceon Ulmer’s family, as the investigation continues to ensure justice is served.
