DeKalb County Police Arrest Suspect in October Fatal Shooting and Crossfire Incident
DeKalb County Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on October 5, 2024, near the 1200 block of Panola Road. The suspect was taken into custody on December 31, 2024, and is now lodged in the DeKalb County Jail.
The shooting took place just after 7 p.m. outside a Chevron gas station near the intersection of Panola Road and Redan Road, approximately six miles east of Interstate 285. According to DeKalb County Police, the suspect approached the victim and opened fire, killing him at the scene.
Two additional individuals, a 22-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were caught in the crossfire and suffered gunshot wounds. The man was shot in the leg, and the woman was struck in the torso. Both victims were transported to the hospital, and their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
Detectives swiftly worked to identify the suspect, leading to the December 31 arrest. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
