Hours After Release From Jail, Gang Member Arrested for Threatening 14-Year-Old in Towns County
On December 1, 2024, Towns County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of threats against a 14-year-old at 728 Twin Mountain Road. Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle on the property occupied by a male and female.
As deputies approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana. The occupants were identified as Ronald Shane Lowery and Christine Lynn Cardona, both of Hiawassee, Georgia.
Lowery reportedly became irate and resisted arrest, prompting a search of the vehicle. Deputies found a quantity of marijuana inside.
This incident comes just hours after Lowery’s release on bond. He had been arrested on November 22, 2024, for felony possession of methamphetamine and drug-related objects, receiving a $5,000 bond set by a magistrate. Similarly, Cardona had been arrested on the same day for possession of drug-related objects, with a $1,000 bond.
Lowery, identified as a member of the Ghost Face Gangsters—a group known for violent criminal activity—was charged with:
- Two counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers
- Possession of marijuana less than an ounce
Cardona was charged with:
- One count of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers
- Possession of marijuana less than an ounce
Both individuals are currently held at the Towns County Detention Center without bond. Investigations into the threats against the juvenile are ongoing.
