Macon Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested at Motel; Drugs and Firearm Seized
A hit-and-run suspect involved in a physical altercation with a deputy was arrested by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) deputies at a motel on Holiday Drive North.
The incident began when the suspect fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident. Before fleeing the suspect fought with one of the responding deputies, causing injuries. Authorities launched an investigation and located the individual at the motel.
During the arrest, deputies discovered significant quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, and hallucinogenic mushrooms, as well as a firearm. The suspect, a convicted felon, was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center for processing.
Charges against the suspect include drug trafficking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additional charges related to the hit-and-run and the assault on the deputy are expected as the investigation continues.
