Greater Macon Chamber Wraps Up 2024 Macon & Eggs Series with Federal Edition Panel
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce concluded its 2024 Macon & Eggs series with a Federal Edition panel, drawing community leaders, elected officials, business professionals, and students together to discuss pressing regional and national issues. The panel featured U.S. Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. and U.S. Congressman Austin Scott, with Dr. Barbara Donovan, Professor of Political Science at Wesleyan College, moderating the conversation.
The event, held at Wesleyan College’s Anderson Dining Hall, brought notable attendees, including Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller, along with representatives from both congressional offices. Discussions centered on challenges and developments in Middle Georgia, including the Ocmulgee National Park and Preserve Initiative, which panelists agreed could have a significant cultural and economic impact on the region. Agricultural issues also took the spotlight, with both congressmen emphasizing bipartisan support for Georgia’s farmers.
Following the panel, the congressmen engaged directly with attendees, answering questions and exchanging insights. The event was made possible by sponsors, including Prince Service & Manufacturing, and was praised for fostering community engagement on key topics shaping Middle Georgia’s future.
