A fatal accident involving a MARTA bus occurred on November 11, 2024, around 5:15 p.m., at the intersection of Campbellton Road SW and Honeysuckle Lane SW in the Venetian Hills area. Atlanta police responded to the scene and found the driver of a sedan injured after rear-ending a stopped MARTA bus. The driver was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to their injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate that the MARTA bus had been servicing a bus stop when the sedan collided with it from behind. Passengers on the bus sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The Accident Investigations Unit is handling the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
