Murder Suspect Apprehended in Atlanta Following Homicide in Fargo

The Fargo Police Department has identified Leo Dartoe, a 34-year-old resident of Fargo, as the suspect in the homicide of 35-year-old Sampson Bleh. The incident occurred on August 23 in the 2200 block of 12th Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota, leading to a warrant for Dartoe’s arrest.

On October 18, 2024, the Zone 5 Field Investigative Team (F.I.T.) in Atlanta was notified by the U.S. Marshals regarding Dartoe’s possible presence in the Atlanta area. Officers conducted a search based on a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) alert. A Sergeant spotted Dartoe near Woodruff Park and quickly notified other officers, resulting in his swift apprehension without incident.

Capt. William Ahlfeldt of the Fargo Police Department expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort, stating, “The Fargo Police Department would like to acknowledge the United States Marshals Task Force and the Atlanta Police Department for their assistance in locating and arresting homicide suspect Leo Dartoe. We would also like to express our appreciation to the community for their assistance and support as this ongoing investigation continues.”
