Operation Summer Heat Leads to 24 Arrests in Two-Day Crime Reduction Effort in Bibb County
On September 19 and 20, 2024, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, HEAT Unit, SRT Unit, Georgia State Patrol, Homeland Security Gang Unit, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Gang Unit conducted “Operation Summer Heat,” a two-day focused effort to reduce violent crime.
The operation resulted in 120 citations issued and 24 arrests, including 20 felony charges and four misdemeanors. Authorities also served 15 warrants and recovered three firearms.
Sheriff David Davis commended the multi-agency effort, stating, “Operation Summer Heat is responsible for bringing twenty wanted felons to justice,” while urging community members to continue reporting criminal activity to aid in reducing street violence.
