Two Women Arrested in Hiawassee Drug Bust, Methamphetamine and Controlled Substances Seized

On September 16, 2024, Towns County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Drug Investigators acted on reliable information regarding drug activity at a residence on Konahetah Road in Hiawassee. A search of the residence led to the confiscation of methamphetamine, which tested positive. Sharon Lynn Allman, 40, of Hiawassee, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.

Following Allman’s arrest, investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence at 7364 Highway 76 in Hiawassee, where additional methamphetamine and a Schedule III controlled substance were seized. Evidence indicated the suspect was selling and distributing methamphetamine and other substances throughout Towns County.

Amanda Marie Lester, 38, of Young Harris, was arrested and charged with:

  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute

Sheriff Ken Henderson praised the teamwork between patrol deputies and drug investigators for their efforts in combating drug sales and distribution in the community.
