Seventeen Arrested in Multi-Jurisdictional Human Trafficking Operation in Georgia
In a recent operation targeting human trafficking, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested and charged 17 individuals as part of Operation “Wrong Room.” This operation, which took place in coordination with Operation “Coast to Coast,” aimed to address human trafficking across multiple jurisdictions.
Operation “Wrong Room” led to the seizure of over $255,000 from suspected traffickers during two residential search warrants in Georgia. Law enforcement authorities contacted 15 adults during the operation, offering services such as food, lodging, medical care, drug rehabilitation, counseling, and childcare.

- Melissa AnnMarie Stombaugh, 32, Akron, OH – Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act
- Ashley Alexander, 35, Winston, GA – Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act
- Lindsay Roberts, 25, Midway, GA – Pimping and Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act
- Thomas Piper, 56, Woodstock, GA – Pimping
- Brendan Ahn, 35, Alpharetta, GA – Pandering
- Christopher Horne, 35, Decatur, GA – Pimping
- Jeffrey Li, 28, Lawrenceville, GA – Pandering
- Marco Gamboa Lopez, 39, Tucker, GA – Pandering
- Justin Sanders, 23, Decatur, GA – Pandering
All individuals were booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
Operation “Wrong Room” was conducted in partnership with the Chamblee Police Department, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, the Gwinnett County Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
In conjunction with Operation “Coast to Coast,” law enforcement and service providers across 26 states worked to identify trafficking victims and provide necessary services. During this operation, authorities contacted 94 adults and 1 minor, offering similar services and taking a child under one year of age into protective custody.
The operations involved agencies and organizations from across the United States, including the Human Trafficking Training Center, Safe House Project, and Nurses Against Trafficking.
