Macon Man Charged with Homicide After Fatal Crash on Rivoli Drive

A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Fatality Investigator has arrested a person of interest in connection with a fatal traffic accident. The accident occurred on Rivoli Drive near the intersection of Rivoli Ridge Drive on August 23, 2024, at 9:56 p.m.

According to reports, the driver of a Honda Civic veered off the roadway, striking multiple trees and a fence. The driver and passenger were transported to Atrium Navicent Health for treatment of their injuries. The passenger, 31-year-old Devan Fishback, was pronounced deceased at the hospital on August 24, 2024.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., 44-year-old Angel Hector Rodriguez of Macon was taken into custody. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center following his release from a local medical facility.

Rodriguez faces multiple charges, including Homicide by Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Failure to Maintain Lane, Too Fast for Conditions, Expired License Plate, and No Valid Insurance. He currently does not have a bond.
