Suspect Arrested in Burglary of Macon Business

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at Great Furniture & Mattress on August 26, 2024. The call came into the Macon-Bibb County Emergency-911 Center at 10:15 p.m. on Monday.

Deputies responded to the business located at 3423 Pio Nono Avenue after witnesses reported an unknown male on the roof. A deputy arriving on scene discovered a ladder at the back of the business. The deputy then scaled the ladder and found the suspect tampering with the air conditioning units on the roof.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Tye Alan Tyson of Macon, was taken into custody and found in possession of tools. He was transported to investigation headquarters and later to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Tyson faces charges of Felony Second Degree Burglary and Probation Violation. He is being held without bond.
