Manhunt Launched in Macon: Help Needed to Identify Suspect in Robbery and Assault Case
Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault and commercial armed robbery. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident, which took place at the Citgo located at 5642 Houston Road in Macon on June 10, 2024, at 4:15 a.m.
According to reports, a masked individual dressed in dark clothing and wearing a face mask entered the store and demanded money. During the attempted robbery, the suspect tried to climb over the store counter but was pushed back by the clerk. In the ensuing struggle, the suspect shot the clerk once before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. The clerk sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a black male, and a surveillance camera image of the individual has been released to aid in identification.
