Dirt Bike Chase Ends in Arrest and Accident in Macon

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputies monitoring traffic at the intersection of Mercer University Drive and Log Cabin Drive spotted a male riding a dirt bike without proper lights and safety gear.

When deputies tried to pull him over, he sped off eastbound on Mercer University Drive, prompting a pursuit. After forcing the driver to stop, he took off running.

Deputies managed to apprehend him after a short foot chase. The rider was taken into custody without further trouble and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.

However, during the chase, an accident occurred involving a deputy and another vehicle. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported.
