Baldwin County Man Arrested in Downtown Macon After Firing Shots During Altercation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) apprehended a Baldwin County man following an altercation in downtown Macon. The incident unfolded near the parking garage situated at the intersection of Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
According to reports, the individual discharged a firearm during the altercation. Despite deputy instructions, the armed individual resisted cooperation and was subsequently subdued with a taser. Law enforcement officials identified signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, and discovered the individual in possession of individually wrapped narcotics, including crystal meth, powdered cocaine, and crack cocaine.
Further investigation revealed that the individual had outstanding warrants in Baldwin County for similar charges related to firearm discharge and obstruction of law enforcement.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) assessed the individual’s condition on-site before transportation to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. The arrest proceeded without additional incident.
