Fatal Car Crash on I-75: Driver Killed, Passenger Hospitalized in NW Atlanta

On June 2nd, 2024, around 6:37 AM, Atlanta officers rushed to the I-75 Northbound Expressway NW and Moores Mill Road NW following reports of a car crash with entrapment. Upon reaching the scene, they found a Toyota Corolla. The car’s 24-year-old male driver was unresponsive and didn’t appear to be breathing. Despite efforts to free him from the wreckage, he was pronounced dead on-site by medical responders.

The car also carried a 33-year-old female passenger who remained conscious. She was transported to the hospital for medical attention. According to initial investigations, the Toyota was traveling northbound on the I-75 Expressway when it took the Moores Mill Road exit at a high speed, causing the driver to lose control. The car veered off the road, colliding with a tree before coming to a stop on the grass beside the roadway.

Officers from the Accident Investigations Unit were dispatched to the scene to piece together what happened. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to understand the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
