More Details Released on Child Porn Arrest, Suspect Employed at Dunwoody Baptist Church

The Roswell Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit has arrested 59-year-old Ralph Britt Jr. of Johns Creek on multiple charges of sexual exploitation of children (possession of child sexual abuse material).

On February 10, 2024 detectives began a proactive investigation into child sexual abuse material transmitted locally through peer-to-peer file sharing networks. The investigation led detectives to Britt’s home in Johns Creek, where on April 24, 2024 they conducted a search warrant. Detectives discovered additional child sexual abuse material at the home, and seized multiple electronic items for further processing.

Later that same day, detectives met with Britt at Dunwoody Baptist Church, where he was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fulton County Jail on 9 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Additional charges are expected. At the time of his arrest, Britt was an employee of Dunwoody Baptist Church, where he has worked closely with children and youth in various capacities over the past 20 years. Dunwoody Baptist Church has been fully cooperative with the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.

Given the nature of Britt’s charges and the context of his employment, the Roswell Police Department’s ICAC unit is requesting anyone with additional information relevant to this investigation to contact Detective Heath at 770-640-4512 or bheath@roswellgov.com. Anonymous information can be provided through Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477) or online at www.StopCrimeATL.org.
