Kidnapping Victim Rescued After High-Speed Chase in Dawson County

Dawson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to a kidnapping report from Forsyth County on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The vehicle matching the description was located, but the driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.

The chase ended on Cowart Rd near Kelly Bridge Rd in Dawsonville, where the Crime Suppression Unit and Uniform Patrol Deputies boxed in the vehicle. The victim was safely recovered.

The driver faces multiple charges in Dawson County before being transferred to Forsyth County.

DCSO thanked deputies from DCSO, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia State Patrol for their assistance in apprehending the suspect. The roadway, closed for investigation, has since reopened.
