Driver Charged in Fatal Collision: Speeding and Child Restraint Violations Highlighted
Aaron Vaughn

Aaron Vaughn, 30, from Lawrenceville, faces a slew of charges in connection to a fatal collision involving a yellow Camaro. The lead investigator assigned to the case has charged Vaughn with Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Homicide by Vehicle in the First Degree, and several other offenses.

The charges stem from a tragic incident where Vaughn’s Camaro collided with a BMW. According to preliminary investigations, Vaughn was driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph in an area where the speed limit is 45 mph.

In addition to the speeding violation, Vaughn faces charges for failing to properly restrain his two daughters, aged 5 and 6. Although they were secured using the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt, Georgia law mandates that children under eight must be restrained in a child safety seat appropriate for their age, height, and weight.

The collision resulted in serious injuries, including the loss of life. Vaughn’s passenger, a 28-year-old female, is currently receiving treatment for her injuries at a local hospital.

Vaughn was arrested on Friday, March 22, at 3:06 p.m., and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
