In a significant operation, 33-year-old Franklin Pineda Orrosquieta was apprehended by DEA agents in Atlanta. The DEA has connected the seized methamphetamine to the Jalisco New Generation cartel, proving Atlanta’s role in the cartel’s drug conflict.

According to authorities, Atlanta serves as a crucial hub for narcotics entering from Mexico, where they are processed for distribution.

On Monday, March 11th, agents raided a storage facility on Jimmy Carter Blvd in Norcross, GA. Inside, they discovered over 855 pounds (387 kgs) of crystal methamphetamine, valued at approximately $1.5 million on the streets.

“The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office is proud to have a Task Force Officer assigned to this DEA Atlanta Task Force group. We appreciate the value of our federal, state, and local partners in our collective efforts to remove illicit drugs from our neighborhoods and ensure the safety of our communities,” stated the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.
