Georgia Department of Public Safety Mourns Trooper’s Line-of-Duty Death

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (GDPS) is mourning the tragic loss of Trooper First Class Chase Redner #290, who died in the line of duty.

On February 20, 2024, TFC Redner was investigating a vehicle crash on Interstate 75 North near Mt. Zion Boulevard in Clayton County when he was struck by a vehicle. Despite efforts to save him, TFC Redner succumbed to his injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The investigation into the incident is being led by the Troop C Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team and is currently ongoing.

TFC Redner had been a dedicated member of the Georgia Department of Public Safety since September 2017, having graduated from the 103rd Trooper School.
