Two Individuals Hospitalized After Apparent Road Rage Shooting
On February 23, 2024, at approximately 2:17 p.m., Zone1 Officers responded to a distress call at Grady Hospital where two individuals had arrived seeking urgent medical attention after sustaining gunshot wounds. The victims, identified as a 23-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, were transported to the hospital by private vehicle.
Upon arrival at Grady Hospital, law enforcement located the injured individuals, both of whom were conscious and breathing despite their injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting incident took place near the intersection of Joseph E. Lowery Blvd SW and Sells Ave SW. The circumstances leading up to the shooting suggest it was a result of a road rage altercation.
The Aggravated Assault Unit has since taken charge of the investigation, with their focus on piecing together the events that transpired prior to the shooting.
