Lawrenceville, GA – A devastating vehicle collision in unincorporated Lawrenceville has resulted in the loss of three lives, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit.

On Thursday, December 7, around 7 p.m., officers from the Bay Creek Precinct responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Scenic Pines Drive. The collision involved a silver Kia Sorento and a white Yamaha motorcycle. The Kia, occupied by a 37-year-old Loganville mother and her two sons (ages 9 and 14), was traveling northbound on Scenic Highway, intending to turn left onto Scenic Pines Drive. Simultaneously, the motorcycle, operated by a 27-year-old man from Snellville, was traveling southbound on Scenic Highway. The preliminary investigation suggests that the Kia turned left into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

Tragically, the mother and 14-year-old son from the Kia succumbed to their injuries. The 9-year-old was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. The motorcycle driver also lost his life due to the severity of the injuries sustained in the collision.

Both vehicles involved in the incident have been impounded to the Gwinnett County Police Department headquarters for further investigation. The determination of the at-fault driver remains uncertain at this time, with speed being examined as a potential contributing factor.
