Dacula, GA – The Gwinnett Police Foundation is organizing a fundraiser to support Officer Daniel Ortega of the Gwinnett County Police Department, who sustained severe injuries after being struck head-on by an impaired driver several months ago.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 9, around 4:30 p.m. Officer Ortega was on Breckinridge Blvd. near Breckinridge Parkway in unincorporated Duluth when a silver sedan, exhibiting signs of impairment, entered oncoming traffic and collided with his patrol car.
