Madison Woman Charged in Theft of Two Trucks and ATM Vandalism
Jenee Lashard Johnson

On August 1, 2024, deputies were alerted to a theft and vandalism incident involving two trucks stolen from Builders First Choice Lumber Yard, located at 1028 Richland Connector. The first truck was reported to have been driven through the fence near the entrance of the lumber yard, creating a significant breach. The vehicle was then abandoned in a ditch just outside the gate.

The suspect returned to the lumber yard and stole a second truck, using the gap created by the first truck to exit the property. The second truck was driven along Lake Oconee Parkway and subsequently crashed into a ditch.

Surveillance footage from the in-car camera systems of both stolen trucks captured the incidents and revealed that the driver appeared to be a black female.

Further investigation connected these incidents to another event involving damage to an ATM at the Exchange Bank on Lake Oconee Parkway. Evidence from the bank incident confirmed that the same female suspect was involved.

The investigation led deputies to locate the suspect vehicle at the Imperial Inn in Madison, GA. The driver was identified as Jenee Lashard Johnson, a resident of Madison, GA. Warrants have been issued for Johnson, charging her with Theft of a Motor Vehicle (x2) and Criminal Damage to Property. Authorities are seeking information on Johnson’s whereabouts and encourage anyone with details to contact Investigator SGT Don Smith at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
