Paulding County Joins Investigation into Indicted Sexual Assault Suspect Bobby Lee Hart, Jr.
PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The Paulding County District Attorney’s Office announced an update Wednesday morning regarding a multi-county investigation into Bobby Lee Hart, Jr., a suspect presently under indictment in Douglas and Cobb Counties for multiple sexual assaults who may have been operating in the region since 1988.
53-year-old Bobby Lee Hart, Jr. currently faces indictments in Douglas and Cobb Counties related to multiple sexual assault offenses. Authorities indicated that evidence gathered during the ongoing probe suggests Hart may have been operating across Douglas, Cobb, and Paulding Counties for nearly four decades.
Paulding County Probe and Multi-Agency Coordination
The Paulding County District Attorney’s Office initiated its investigation after being notified by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office of a Paulding County victim connected to the case. Investigators immediately opened a full review of all available evidence.
The active investigation is being conducted in partnership with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Ashley Henson, and the Hiram Police Department, led by Chief Josh Lonergan. Assistant District Attorney Christina Morgan Young is coordinating the Paulding County investigation.
The Paulding County District Attorney’s Office stated that its team will continue working closely with law enforcement partners across Douglas, Cobb, and Paulding Counties to ensure every lead is thoroughly investigated and every victim is heard, emphasizing that its mission remains clear: to seek truth and do justice.

Given the long time span and the nature of the allegations, law enforcement officials believe there may be additional victims or individuals with relevant information regarding Hart’s activities.
