Woman Critically Injured in Houston Road Shooting, Bibb County Investigators Searching for Answers
MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault after a woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound Monday morning in south Macon.
Deputies responded just before 7 a.m. on June 22, 2026, to the 5400 block of Houston Road following reports of a person who had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they located a 46-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
According to medical personnel, the woman remains in critical condition.
Investigators have not released details regarding a suspect, possible motive, or the events that led up to the shooting.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
