Macon Man Critically Injured in Riverside Drive Shooting

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault after a man was shot Saturday evening along Riverside Drive.

Deputies responded to the 3900 block of Riverside Drive just before 5 p.m. on June 20, 2026, following reports of a person who had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found a 56-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

According to medical staff, the victim remains in critical condition.

Investigators have not released details regarding a suspect, possible motive, or the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the aggravated assault investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
