Bibb County Deputies Search for Suspect in Two Aggravated Assaults at Macon Stores

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of involvement in two aggravated assaults at Macon businesses, including a shooting incident inside a Dollar General store and a separate confrontation at a Chevron gas station.
Investigators believe the same man may be responsible for both incidents, which occurred eight days apart in August and September 2026.
In both cases, witnesses reported that the suspect fled on foot before entering a burgundy SUV.
The sheriff’s office has released a surveillance photograph of the individual in hopes that someone will recognize him.
Shots Fired Inside Dollar General on Gray Highway
The first incident occurred Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at approximately 9:03 p.m. at the Dollar General located at 1970 Gray Highway in Macon.
Bibb County deputies responded to reports of gunfire inside the store.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a male suspect had fled the business on foot before getting into a burgundy SUV.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Victim Assaulted at Chevron Gas Station on Rocky Creek Road
The second incident occurred Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 9:21 p.m. at the Chevron gas station located at 1106 Rocky Creek Road.
According to investigators, a male suspect struck a victim in the face and brandished a firearm during the confrontation.
The suspect then fled the store on foot and entered a burgundy SUV, matching the vehicle description from the earlier Dollar General incident.
The victim sustained injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators Believe Same Suspect Is Connected to Both Cases
Detectives with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division are investigating both incidents as aggravated assaults.
Authorities believe the same male suspect may be connected to the two cases based on information gathered during their investigations.
Both incidents occurred at businesses during the evening hours, and in each case, the suspect reportedly escaped in a burgundy SUV.
Investigators have not publicly identified the man or announced any arrests in connection with the incidents.
The sheriff’s office has obtained a photograph of the suspect from a business surveillance camera and is asking residents to help identify him.
